About the Certificate project
The RANZCP has received funding under the Psychiatry Workforce Program (PWP) to develop a Certificate of Postgraduate Training in Clinical Psychiatry (the Certificate).
The PWP is an Australian Government Department of Health and Aged Care initiative that has been introduced to address mental health workforce maldistribution and shortages. The Program aims to improve access to high quality mental health care for all Australians.
The Certificate is a continuing professional development (CPD) opportunity to support medical practitioners in developing enhanced skills to provide appropriate mental health care in our communities.
Consultations
Throughout the development of the Certificate, there will be a number of consultations to key stakeholders and the RANZCP membership to assist in guiding the development of a Certificate that is functional for its intended audience.
The consultation process will provide the opportunity for the Steering Groups involved in the Development of the program to receive meaningful feedback about the proposed curriculum.
Governance
Three committees are contributing to the development of the Certificate:
RANZCP Certificate of Psychiatry Expert Advisory Group
RANZCP Certificate of Psychiatry Curriculum Authorship Steering Group
RANZCP Certificate Teaching and Learning Steering Group
Membership of these groups includes RANZCP members, community member representation as well as representatives from key stakeholder organisations and potential end users of the Certificate.
