Independent Reconsideration Panel (IRP)
Reporting directly to the RANZCP Board, the Independent Reconsideration Panel's (IRP) role is to consider applications for reconsideration made by persons who are dissatisfied with a decision or recommendation made by the RANZCP.
The IRP will administer the review process as per a revised mechanism, which has been approved by the RANZCP Board and is in the process of being implemented. It will assist the RANZCP in ensuring that the decisions made by its committees are transparent, accountable and fair.

Responsibilities
- Considering applications for reconsideration made by persons who are dissatisfied with decisions or recommendations of the RANZCP or its committees, in accordance with the Policy.
- Deciding each application on its merits and in accordance with the rules of natural justice and procedural fairness.
- Maintaining its independence, fairness and objectivity in decision-making at all times.
Meeting frequency
The Committee will meet on an as needs basis.
A committee member will also be required to respond to emails between formal meetings/hearings.
Position term
The Chair and Member term will be 3 years from the date of appointment by the Board.
