The RANZCP Section of Perinatal and Infant Psychiatry (SPIP) promotes the highest standards in clinical practice, training and research pertaining to perinatal and infant psychiatry. Perinatal and infant psychiatry focuses on the mental health of infants and parents through the perinatal period.
Aims
This Section aims to:
- promote the objectives of the College relating to perinatal and infant psychiatry
- advise on training in perinatal and infant psychiatry
- advance and disseminate research in perinatal and infant psychiatry
- contribute to and promote the highest standards of clinical practice.

The Pat, Toni and Peter Kinsman Research Scholarship
Supported by a bequest from the Kinsman family, this scholarship supports and encourages research into postnatal depression in women in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. The award of up to A$50,000 is available every two years.
