Independent Observed Clinical Activity Oversight Panel (I-OCA OP)
The Independent Observed Clinical Activity Oversight Panel (I-OCA OP) provides guidance for the development and implementation of the I-OCAs to ensure assessment integrity and oversees the delivery and conduct of the I-OCAs. The I-OCA OP will also analyse and report on data from the I-OCA for monitoring and process improvement purposes.
- It provides oversight of processes relating to the I-OCA, working collaboratively with the relevant committees to ensure assessment integrity and maintenance of standards.
- It provides advice and guidance for the delivery and implementation of I-OCAs.
- It develops, and re-review as necessary, calibration and training resources including the I-OCA marking criteria.

Responsibilities
Members’ key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the review and development of the training resources for the I-OCA calibration and training. This will include review of any existing video resources (from the previous clinical assessments) and other training material for assessors and candidates.
- Developing a scoring guide and marking criteria describing the I-OCA rating scale and the expected performance standards.
- Overseeing the facilitation of calibration and training sessions for supervisors and independent assessors.
- Training other ‘supervisor facilitators’ who can assist in the calibration of broader supervisor groups.
- Analysing and reporting on the I-OCA data to ensure consistent quality improvements.

The I-OCA OP consists of nine (9) Fellows with expertise in education, training and assessments.
