The Section of Rural Psychiatry promotes the highest standards in clinical practice, training and research in the practice of psychiatry in rural and remote locations. The Section recognises the unique set of skills required for practice in remote locations. 

Aims

The SRP aims to:

  • promote the objectives of the College relating to rural and remote psychiatry
  • advise on and advocate for training in rural and remote locations
  • advance and disseminate research in rural and remote psychiatry
  • contribute to and promote the highest standards of clinical practice.

The chair of the Section of Rural Psychiatry bi-national committee is Dr Mathew Coleman.
