Queensland awards
Each year, the Queensland Branch awards a prize to the medical students with the highest mark in their mental heath rotation for their final year at the University of Queensland, James Cook University, Griffith University and Bond University. Recipients are awarded an engraved medallion and a cheque for $500.
These are the prizes:
- John Bostock Prize in Psychiatry – The University of Queensland
- The RANZCP Basil James Psychiatry Prize – James Cook University
- The RANZCP Paul Schneider Award for Mental Health – Bond University
- RANZCP Dr Joan Lawrence Mental Health Prize – Griffith University
Joan Lawrence Queensland Meritorious Service Award
The Meritorious Service Award recognises either Fellows who have made significant, sustained contributions to the practice of psychiatry in a clinical, academic or administrative capacity, or agencies or non-Fellows who have contributed to the improvement of mental health in Queensland. This award is presented annually and consists of a medallion, and certificate and is presented at the Queensland Branch Annual Meeting.
