The revised position statement now addresses the excessive social burden of gambling-related harm within Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
- The working title has been modified from 'Problem Gambling' to 'Prevention and Treatment of Gambling-Related Harm' to reflect the evolving terminology used to describe problem gambling and associated concepts.
- The updated PS 45 particularly underscores the significance of electronic gaming machines (EGMs) and online gambling as methods of gambling that warrant special attention.
