The Section of Rural Psychiatry has sponsored the introduction of a RANZCP Rural Research Award to recognise the expansion of RANZCP Rural Psychiatry Training Pathways and trainees undertaking their fellowship training, and scholarly projects, in regional, rural and remote settings.
The award is open to all trainees and recently graduated Fellows who have undertaken meritorious research, a quality improvement project or case review/study in the field of regional, rural or remote psychiatry. The work submitted must have been completed at least partly in Australia or New Zealand within the two-year period prior to application. The annual award consists of $1000 (AUD) and a framed certificate, and the candidate will be invited to submit their work to the Australasian Psychiatry journal for publication.
The RANZCP Rural Research Award will be open for applications later this year and outcomes will be announced at the RANZCP Congress from 2025.
