The RANZCP Foundation is delighted to launch two new initiatives to support leadership and scholarship in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander social and emotional wellbeing.
The gamadji nanggit Scholarship (meaning ‘emerging leader’) is awarded to an early career RANZCP Fellow or trainee, who identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, to undertake an endorsed external leadership, management, or career development training opportunity.
The nanggit ngarrgu Academic Research Award (meaning ‘leaders of knowledge’) recognises the best original academic research in the field of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander social and emotional wellbeing research in the last five years. A sum of $5000 is available.
These valuable new initiatives are generously supported by Dr Alagappa Arumugam AM and Dr Banu Arumugam. The RANZCP Foundation extends its sincere thanks to Dr Alagappa Arumugam and Dr Banu Arumugam for their commitment to supporting the next generation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander psychiatrists.
