In 2023, the College commenced a transition towards a Best Practice Resources model following publication of the hereco report and recommendations of the Future Development of Clinical Practice Guidelines Steering Group. This new direction will support members and trainees with a suite of high-quality written and audio-visual resources, offering contemporary guidance in training, education, professional development and clinical decision-making. A ‘Best Practice Resource’ can be newly developed or external information spanning a range of potential formats, including:
- Webinars, podcasts and other multimedia formats
- Continuing professional development documents
- Clinical memoranda
- College position statements
- Professional practice guidelines
- Clinical practice guidelines
Throughout 2024, the College’s Committee for Evidence Based Practice have worked to ensure this new direction is guided by the needs and expertise of members. Over the coming months, the framework for this process will be brought to the membership and wider network of College committees for consultation.
