AIDA Cultural Safety Workshops in 2024
20 Feb 2024
The Cultural Safety Workshops facilitated by the Australian Indigenous Doctors Association (AIDA) are an important continuing professional development opportunity for members. Several workshops will be held throughout 2024 in a number of major cities.
AIDA’s cultural safety training helps participants extend their knowledge on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander history, culture and ways of being to provide clinically safe care to patients. The training, administered by Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander doctors focuses on self-reflection and experiential learning. The program aims to reframe the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health narrative by using strengths-based approaches to enhance the experiences of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples within the healthcare system to improve health outcomes.
For more information and to register for the workshops, visit the AIDA webpage.
