30 Aug 2023
Trainee news
Two Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Trainee Forums, funded through the Australian Government under the Specialist Training Program (STP), will be convened in 2023.
Online forum 29 September
We invite all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander trainees to attend the Virtual Trainee Forum on Friday 29 September from 10am – 11.30 am. Please contact stp@ranzcp.org to RSVP.
Hybrid forum at AIDA 15 November
We will also be running a hybrid (in-person and online) Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Trainee Forum at the AIDA 2023 Conference in Hobart, Tasmania on Wednesday 15 November 2023.
The Trainee Forums are designed to increase engagement with the RANZCP and gain input directly from trainees on recommendations to better attract, support, and retain the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander workforce in psychiatry. It also provides a valuable opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander trainees, Fellows, and community members to build their network, celebrate successes, discuss challenges, and share stories and experiences within an informal space.
Previous Trainee Forums have been a huge success and have helped the RANZCP facilitate a significant number of improvements for the College. The continuation of initiatives such at the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Trainee Forum has contributed to the growth in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander psychiatry workforce.
We look forward to seeing you there.
Please email the STP team at stp@ranzcp.org for more information.
