Event information

We are excited to announce that this year's APT SA Symposium 2025 will take place on Friday, 28 March 8.30am at RANZCP SA Branch Headquarters, Dulwich.

Our theme this year is 'Futures of Our Psychiatry'. With a focus on exploring interesting and diverse developing corners of our speciality, that may end up being potential avenues that we end up working within.

Our speakers and psychiatrists have volunteered their time to discuss a range of topics including, gaming disorder and its intersections with gender, refugee mental health, AI in mental health, and climate change and its intersections with mental health. During the day, the APT SA AGM will also occur, including the election of new Office Bearers for the 2025 committee.

The day is at no cost for trainees that attend, it will be fully catered during the academic program, and after the conclusion of the Symposium, trainees are invited to partake in a tab which will be placed at the nearby Parkside Hotel for an evening drink or meal for those wishing to partake (please indicate during event registration if you're intending to join for the post-Symposium dinner so that we can acquire numbers to notify the venue).

Traditionally, the Symposium is conducted in lieu of your training afternoon that week, under the good grace of your LHN Directors of Training and Clinical Directors. All trainees are welcome to attend and do not have to take a professional development (PD) leave day to attend.

If trainees choose not to attend the Symposium, they are expected to attend their regular workplace on Friday 28 March.
