Theory: ‘Interpersonal space’ where therapy happens, and directing therapy to ‘it’, and not ‘them’. Key factors and problems. Theories informing IPT, differences from CBT and Psychodynamic approaches. Social Rhythms and their role in mood disorders
Assessment: Understanding three factors contributing to distress or psychopathology, and four problem areas to focus on. Interpersonal factors that predispose, precipitate, and perpetuate an individual’s distress.
Intervention: Delivering IPT in three and IPSRT in four phases. Starting with Two basic premises, Interpersonal Triad, focusing on one of the IPT Problem areas, Social Rhythms Therapy.
