Psychotherapy Trauma

The 2025 Faculty of Psychotherapy Conference will explore the theme  ‘Weaving the therapeutic fabric: integration of psychodynamic psychotherapy with contemporary therapeutic approaches for treatment of trauma.

Recognizing the contribution of underlying trauma is often essential in our approach to treatment of psychiatric distress. Creation of safety and trust in the therapeutic relationship is central and is the core of psychodynamic psychotherapy approaches. The weaving metaphor highlights the uniqueness of the therapeutic process for each individual. In this conference, we will explore the ways contemporary therapeutic approaches for trauma can be woven in to the fabric of therapy to enhance the healing process.
