Call for nominations: National Assessment Panel members
18 Jul 2024
Update
The number of Specialist International Medical Graduate (SIMG) Psychiatrists seeking employment in Australian and New Zealand health services has increased significantly over the past few years. To enable the College to maintain the appropriate standards and ensure timely processing of applications, we require the assistance of eligible RANZCP Fellows to join the National Assessment Panel (NAP), a pool of accredited assessment panel members located in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
The Committee for SIMG Education (CSIMGE) invites Fellows to nominate for the role of National Assessment Panel member.
Responsibilities will include
- Assess SIMG suitability for entry to the Specialist Pathway to RANZCP Fellowship.
- Determine the suitability of applicants entering Area of Need positions.
- Determine the assessment requirements to attain Fellowship for SIMG applicants by reviewing each applicant’s experience, qualifications and training.
- Conduct a paper-based assessment and interview (via zoom) and make preliminary and final recommendations to the CSIMGE.
Training
Training is provided for all NAP members. Members of the CSIMGE will also act as mentors to assist with queries and provide guidance and advice on the assessments made.
Panel members receive an honorarium for each paper-based assessment and interview completed.

Please read the National Assessment Panel member role description for further information before submitting your completed National Assessment Panel nomination form and CV.
