College update

Curriculum framework redesign project

Be part of the conversation as the College unveils its first major curriculum update and consultation in over 15 years. This significant revision aims to modernise the training of psychiatrists to meet the demands of contemporary mental health care.

The Curriculum Framework Redesign project is a collaboration between the RANZCP and the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), engaged to provide support to the RANZCP to revise the Fellowship program curriculum framework. Through this collaborative work a revised set of draft revised roles, program and graduate outcomes have been developed.

We are now seeking input from members and the broader community to ensure this essential component of the Fellowship program reflects member needs and perspectives. Your feedback is invaluable.

Webinar topics for discussion

  1. Introduction of a new cultural safety role and the reimagining of the CanMEDS Roles framework.
  2. Additions to equip future psychiatrists with the skills needed for evolving challenges, including in public and private, and across settings.
  3. An overview of the development process and how you can contribute your expertise and insights.
  4. Timelines and next steps.

Dr Georgia Ramsden (Chair Bi-National Committee for Trainees) will moderate the webinar.

Prof Andrew Teodorczuk (Deputy Chair Education Committee) will introduce the objectives of the Curriculum Framework Redesign Project.

This will be followed by a presentation by Dr Anthony Llewellyn (Medical Education Specialist, Fellow) on the Curriculum Framework Redesign. The webinar will end with a Q&A.

You will be sent the Zoom link when you register and an event reminder on the day.
