7:15pm - 8pm - Mr David Burton presentation

Program

Dr Mandy Vidovich’s presentation is titled "Persistent Concussion Syndrome - From footballers to feigning and everything in between."

Mr David Burton will present a paper "The role of an expert medical witness: forensic obligations and pitfalls in expert report preparation and presenting evidence at trial."

Dr Mandy Vidovich

Dr Mandy Vidovich has worked extensively as a neuropsychologist in medicolegal and forensic contexts for over 20 years.  She has sessional responsibilities for the Prisoners Review Board, Mentally Impaired Accused Review Board and the State Administrative Tribunal.  Her clinical team works expansively with adults and older adults from a variety of referral bases and community settings - providing opportunity for diverse assessment practices, intervention, and collaboration.  

Mandy's qualifications include:

Doctor of Philosophy, UWA 2016

Master of Clinical Neuropsychology, Macquarie University 2001

BSc  (Psychology, Honours) UWA 1998

Mr David Burton

David has acted as Trial Counsel on Insurance Commission of Western Australia matters for the past 25 years, and is very well placed to provide the group with a presentation regarding forensic requirements of report writing, how best to present before a judge and how to avoid common pitfalls of cross-examination.
 
David is a senior partner at McCabes Lawyers and his qualifications include:
BA.Hons (Distinction)
Bachelor of Laws (LL.B)
Advocate of the Supreme Court of South Africa
Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia
