Specialist Training Program (STP) in Psychiatry

STP-matrix-rectangle.jpgThe Specialist Training Program (STP) is an Australian Government initiative that provides funding to health organisations to support specialist medical training experiences in settings beyond traditional public teaching hospitals.

The RANZCP participates in this program as part of its commitment to expanding training opportunities for specialist trainees.

Note: Australian Government funded Specialist Training Program (STP) posts are only open to current RANZCP trainees and Specialist International Medical Graduates on the pathway to RANZCP Fellowship.

Expression of Interest Round Open

We are pleased to advise that the Department of Health (DoH) has opened the Expression of Interest (EOI) round for the Specialist Training Program (STP).

The EOI will be managed via an online system developed by the DoH and will be open for five weeks, closing on Tuesday 20 November 2018 at 5.00 pm AEDT.

RANZCP EOI application form

The RANZCP Supplementary form will close on Tuesday 4 December 2018 at 5.00pm AEDT. This must be submitted otherwise your application cannot be assessed.

Applicants are reminded to complete one STP EOI and RANZCP supplementary form for each post being applied for. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted or considered.

Due to the timing of the EOI round, it is important that applicants ensure contact details are current across the Christmas and January holiday periods, as RANZCP staff may need to clarify information in the application.

The EOI process is expected to take a number of months and will not conclude until mid-2019.

The Department’s new STP Operational Framework contains more information regarding the EOI and priority settings. This is available on the DoH’s website.
